School prospectuses

Working with primary schools.

Chorlton Park Primary School, Manchester

For this education copywriting and design project we worked closely with the Headteacher at Chorlton Park Primary School to write and design two new school prospectuses: one for early years and a second for whole school. We also created a new visual identity for the school.

Chorlton Park Primary School is part of the CLIC Multi-Academy Trust with Old Moat Primary and Rolls Crescent Primary. It is a large school with more pupils than any other in Manchester.

The Headteacher at Chorlton Park came to us for a new logo, prospectus and a little guide for parents. We spoke with pupils to find out what they thought about branding, logos and their school, and used this to inform the design and content of the prospectus.

When designing the school logo, we posted several versions across the school site and asked for feedback on the designs. This ensured that parents, staff and pupils had a say in how their new school logo would look. We worked on the most popular design and that is now used across the school in publications, banners, stationery and uniforms.

This was a real joint effort, which was only possible because of the close working relationship we developed with those at the school. We were able to respond quickly to requests and to attend the school for meetings which ensured a speedy delivery of all marketing materials.

How do our clients feel?

When you work with copper media they provide a bespoke service. They helped us to articulate what we are trying to achieve as a school in a way that all our audiences can understand.

Littleborough Community Primary, Lancashire

Littleborough Community Primary is located in Littleborough, near Rochdale.

We worked closely with the school to finesse existing content for the prospectuses. The school provided the photographs and we took care of everything else, including the print.

It was another lovely project to work on, and we were pleased produce a prospectus that was in line with the school’s initial thoughts and ideas. We were grateful to receive some lovely feedback from the headteacher.

As is often the case we had a short deadline on this project but we made sure that the prospectus was delivered on time and to budget.

Crossacres Primary Academy, Manchester

For this primary school prospectus design project we worked with the Assistant Head at Crossacres Primary Academy to write and design an early years and a whole school prospectus. They also asked us to put design welcome folders.

We worked on the two school prospectuses as a whole, meeting children and staff to enable us to get a feel for the school. This allowed us to write the content to reflect the school’s position, ambition and overall effectiveness in a way that parents could identify with.
We produced design concepts from which the senior management team could choose, refined and finessed the design and produced a final version as well as managing the photography, print and delivery.

East Ward Community Primary School, Bury

East Ward Community Primary is part of the Vision Multi-Academy Trust and is located in Bury, to the north of Manchester.

We met with the Deputy Head to talk about what we would write and how the prospectus would look, listening to his ideas about what he liked and disliked. We went away and produced an initial presentation for the prospectus, which we used to inform the look and feel for the school prospectus design.

We came back to the school to manage the photography, and we were there with a trusted photographer. The school had organised a few photo opportunities for us to shoot, and we were also able to walk around the school and pop into classrooms to catch great images as they happened. These included technology use in classrooms, PE lessons, capturing live school radio programmes, all of which helped to convey the breadth of opportunities available to pupils.

The Deputy Head was really pleased with our initial concepts and we worked closely together to produce a beautifully detailed prospectus for their school.
